Local MP Welcomes Boost to Collieston Connectivity

Published date : 14 July, 2021

Gordon MP Richard Thomson has welcomed the new 4G service which has been rolled-out to Collieston for the first time.

The project, which is a part of the Scottish Government’s £28.75million 4G Infill Programme targeting so-called ‘not spots’, means that local residents will see a vast improvement in their mobile coverage and home connectivity.

Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said:

“I’m delighted that Collieston is the latest community to benefit from this partnership working between the Scottish Government and telecoms companies EE and WHP Telecoms.

“The increase in home-working due to the pandemic has shown just how vital good communications are to rural areas such as Collieston.  Now, as well as benefitting local businesspeople and those working from home, local residents, the emergency services and visitors to the area can enjoy better connectivity.

“It’s vital that people in all parts of Gordon can access the best possible digital and mobile services and I look forward to further progress in this regard.”
