Thomson Supports Tesco Health Charity Partnership Fundraiser

Published date : 22 September, 2021

Richard Thomson, SNP MP for Gordon, attended the Tesco Health Charity Partnership collection this weekend to show support. The first in-store fundraiser since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic saw Tesco team up with Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

From September 13th until the 26th, shoppers have the option to donate by rounding up the amount they spend in stores to the nearest £1 at all self-service checkouts. Mr Thomson attended the in-person collection over the weekend. All funds go directly to the three charities.

This collection is part of Tesco’s five-year partnership with these charities and reiterates Tesco’s commitment to help the public make healthier food choices and live healthier lives by raising awareness and motivate people to look after their health.

Following his visit to the Tesco Ellon Superstore, Mr Thomson said: “The progress Tesco is making on its aim to support these charities is great and I was glad to attend their first in-person fundraiser following the pandemic. These past years have highlighted how important good health is and I applaud Tesco for trying to motivate people to live healthier lives. Please donate if you are able the next time you are in store to help these great charities.”
