Local MP Comments on Storm Arwen Damage in Gordon

Published date : 30 November, 2021

Commenting on the damage caused and effects of Storm Arwen on Gordon Constituency, local MP Richard Thomson said:

“This has been an incredibly challenging few days for people across the North-east following the very severe effects of Storm Arwen on public infrastructure and personal property.

“I know that many people are still without power or water which is a concern, but particularly for those who are elderly or vulnerable.

“I should like to pay tribute to those utility workers from SSEN and Scottish Water, and the emergency services, who have been out since Friday, also local authority workers, businesses and, importantly, local volunteers who have stepped-up to check on people in their own community and provide help where they can.

“Aberdeenshire Council’s Assistance Hub is available on 0808 1963384 for a wide range of issues.  Anyone in Gordon Constituency in need of my assistance should not hesitate to get in touch with my office – by phone on 0203 545 2236, by e-mail at [email protected] or by webform at https://www.richardthomsonmp.com/contact.  My team stand ready to support any constituents looking for help.”
