Dyce MP Welcomes Approval for Extended Post Office Hours and Relocation

Published date : 14 January, 2022

Local MP Richard Thomson has welcomed the news that proposals to relocate the Post Office in Dyce to the former Clydesdale Bank building where it will see a significant increase in its operating hours and be part of a new convenience store have been approved.

Plans have been drawn up which would see Dyce Post Office move a short distance from its current location and be co-located within a Premier Store at the former bank premises.  The move would see opening hours for the Post Office extended to seven days per week between 6.00am and 10.00pm.

Post Office management recently concluded a consultation seeking the views of Dyce residents and customers.

Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said:

“I’m sure Dyce residents will welcome these new arrangements which will see a significant increase in the hours the Post Office counter is available.

“Maintaining access to cash within local communities is vital.  In Dyce, we’ve lost three of the four banks in recent years and there is a certain irony that the new Post Office service will be located within one of the former bank buildings.

“This will secure a wide range of banking and other services for Dyce and I congratulate the new Postmaster on this approval.”
