Inverurie JAC 90th Anniversary Marked by Local MP

Gordon MP Richard Thomson has congratulated the members of Inverurie Junior Agricultural Club on their milestone 90th anniversary by tabling a Motion in the House of Commons. 
 
The club is organising an event later this year to mark the 90th anniversary of its founding, held over from last year due to the pandemic. 
 
Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said: 
 
“I’m delighted to be able to wish Inverurie JAC and its members a happy ninetieth anniversary in this way. 
 
“Clubs such as these play an important part in the life of rural Scotland, providing people with opportunities to acquire new skills but also affording a valuable social network. 
 
“I wish the club every success going forward.” 
 
The text of the Parliamentary Motion reads: 
 
That this House notes Inverurie Junior Agricultural Club will mark the 90th anniversary of its formation this year; recognises the prominent part the club has played in the Scottish Association of Young Farmers’ Clubs; understands that hundreds of people involved in farming have been part of the club over its nine decades of existence; further recognises that Junior Agricultural Clubs and Young Farmers Clubs provide a valuable social network full of opportunities to meet new people, share new experiences and develop personal skills; commends those involved in Inverurie Junior Agricultural Club for helping it reach this significant milestone; and wishes the club and its members continued success in the years ahead.
