Local SNP MP Richard Thomson has said that Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has been issued with a fixed penalty notice fine for breaches of lockdown regulations by attending a party in 10 Downing Street, should resign.
Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said:
“People are outraged. There is a cold fury about the way in which the Prime Minister and people in government have behaved throughout this, especially given the very personal sacrifices which people had to make during lockdown.
“This is no longer about parties in 10 Downing Street: it’s about the lies, the evasions, and the lack of trust, lack of authority and lack of integrity at the heart of the UK Government.
"Boris Johnson is not fit for office; he wasn't fit for office before he assumed it; nothing that he says inside or outside of Parliament can now be trusted and that is why he has to go."
