Thomson Urges Residents to Respond to the A96 Consultation

Published date : 30 May, 2022

Gordon MP Richard Thomson is urging residents and businesses in the Huntly area to respond to Transport Scotland’s public consultation on upgrades and dualling of the A96.

Commenting Richard Thomson MP said:

“The dualling of the A96 between Aberdeen and Inverness is vital for the future of the North-east economy and also making sure our transport networks are fit for purpose.

“The current plan remains to dual the A96, however, the Scottish Government has agreed to carry out a review and a climate compatibility assessment, and this public consultation is an important part of that.

“I know that local businesses and residents will have strong views on the future of the route, what is required to upgrade it, and plans to dual the A96 more generally.  I would urge everyone with an interest to respond to the consultation to ensure that people in and around Huntly have their views taken account of.”
