Gordon MP Richard Thomson visited the GlenDronach Distillery near Forgue recently following the announcement by owners Brown-Forman of a £30million investment in the facility.
The announcement came after a tripling of demand for GlenDronach globally over the past three years.
This is the second phase of investment by Brown-Forman in the historic distillery after renovations of The GlenDronach Visitors’ Centre in 2020, which created an enhanced visitor experience with a new tasting room, whisky bar, lounge, and retail space.
Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said:
“I was delighted to be able to visit GlenDronach and heard at first hand about this very welcome investment in an iconic North-east brand.
“GlenDronach whisky has been a feature of the North-east since 1826 and I’m delighted that it has found a new popularity globally in the last few years.
“This is a very welcome investment by owners Brown-Forman and, coupled with recent improvements to its visitor centre, is a real vote of confidence in the workforce and their product. I pay tribute to the staff at GlenDronach and Brown-Forman who have played a major part in the brand’s success.”
