A public vote of over 4600 people in a participatory budgeting scheme has seen a number of local organisations being successful in their bids to the Scottish Government’s Just Transition programme.

Welcoming the funding awards, local MP Richard Thomson congratulated the 19 organisations, particularly those based in Gordon Constituency.

Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said:

“I am delighted for the organisations concerned.  This funding is part of an innovative programme administered by Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action on behalf of the Scottish Government and it’s good to see the level of public support for these projects.

“This is Scottish Government funding getting direct to the heart of local communities where it can help make a real difference.  I look forward to further funding rounds in due course.”
