Local MP Richard Thomson has welcomed the success of Aberdeen International Airport’s recruitment fair held today (Tuesday) which attracted over 500 people.
The airport, which lies within Gordon Constituency, hosted 30 companies based across the site and had more than a hundred roles up for grabs at the North-east’s biggest transport hub.
Recruitment teams from a diverse range of airport-based or associated partner companies including ground handler Dalcross, security specialists ICTS, facilities management partner ABM, catering specialists The Restaurant Group and Select Service Partners were on hand to discuss full-time, part-time and seasonal employment opportunities.
Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said:
“I’m delighted Aberdeen International Airport has taken this initiative and pleased that it has been such a success.
“With over 100 jobs available, the Aberdeen International Airport Jobs Fair is an important event for the local economy, particularly given the role the airport plays in helping to drive the North-east economy.”
Mark Beveridge, Operations Director at Aberdeen International Airport, said:
“The jobs fair was a tremendous success, and it was good to see that the event was consistently busy throughout the day with jobseekers looking to find out more about the opportunities available at the airport.
“Our translators were constantly busy throughout the day with our interview room well utilised.
“We anticipate more passengers than 2020 and 2021 combined this year, so it was heartening to see so many people interested in taking up a role at the airport as we gear up for a busy summer ahead.”
Representatives from DWP were also present at the Recruitment Fair to offer support and advice, while translators will also be on hand to support jobseekers.
