Gordon MP Richard Thomson took time out to visit NFU Scotland’s event at Aldi’s Beach Boulevard Aberdeen Branch recently to thank local farmers for promoting Scottish produce and support their efforts in getting the message across to the public.

Local farmers and NFUS officials were joined by NFUS Vice-President Andrew Connon and handed out food fresh from the barbecue to shoppers and passers-by.

Commenting, Richard Thomson MP said:

“I was pleased to be able to attend the NFUS event aimed at promoting the best of Scottish beef, pork, lamb and chicken.

“Locally-produced is always best in terms of food miles, but here in the North-east we also know that our farmers produce some of the best and tastiest meat products to be found.

“It was an excellent opportunity for shoppers to engage with the producers in a real ‘from field to fork’ event and I’m delighted it was such a success.”
